The team did not invest in CNC equipment to remove cabinetmakers from the process. It invested to remove inconsistency from repetitive cuts and give its skilled people more time for fit, finish and problem-solving.

The harder system is the team.

Westline’s bigger breakthrough is operational. Every project has a visible owner. Production meetings are short. Install feedback returns to the drawing team. Apprentices see the whole flow rather than one isolated task.
